Former students

I am the Doktormuter of the following students. The all graduated from the University of British Columbia. Johannes Heim is a lecturer at the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture at the University of Aberdeen. He finished his dissertation Commitment & Engagement: the role of intonation in deriving speech acts at UBC in 2019. We are currently collaborating on the acquisition of interactional structure. Thoma, Sonja is a self-employed Language Coach who specializes in work with First Nations Communities. She finished her dissertation Discourse Particles and the Syntax of Discourse — Evidence from Miesbach Bavarian at UBC in 2016. Heather Bliss is a lecturer and director of the writing center at Simon Fraser University. She finished her dissertation The Blackfoot Configurationality Conspiracy: Parallels and Differences in Clausal and Nominal Structures at UBC in 2013.
James Thompson is an instructor at the University of Victoria. He finished his dissertation Syntactic nominalization in Halkomelem Salish at UBC in 2012. Christiana Christodoulou is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Global Fellow at University of Cambridge and Research Assistant Professor at The University of Mississippi. She finished her dissertation Cypriot Greek Down Syndrome: their grammar and its interface at UBC in 2011.
Peter Jacobs is an Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University He finished his dissertation Control in Skwxwu7mesh at UBC in 2011. Solveiga Armoskaite is an Assistant Professor at University of Rochester She finished her dissertation The destiny of roots in Lithuanian and Blackfoot at UBC in 2011 Atsushi Fujimoriis Professor at the University of ShizuokaHe finished his dissertation The correspondence between vowel quality and verbal telicity in Yamato-Japanese at UBC in 2011. Olga Steriopoloholds a postdoctoral position at the Zentrum für Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) in Berlin. She finished her dissertation Form and function of expressive morphology: a case study of Russian at UBC in 2008.
